Kathleen (GCMHP, M.Couns)

Following her undergraduate studies in Psychology, Kathleen pursued extensive postgraduate studies in Mental Health practices and Counselling. She completed her Master of Counselling at Monash University and is currently undertaking specialist studies in Relationship and Family Therapy with the AIPC. Having lived experience of parenting a child with ADHD, Kathleen has extended her therapeutic skills and understanding in a range of areas. Notably, she has spent a significant period studying supportive interventions for neurodivergent adults and finds she is often working with clients who have been recently diagnosed and seek understanding, skills and support to live better.

Kathleen employs a client focussed approach that incorporates her skills, education and experience with the clients goals to create outcomes that best suit the individual client and their needs.

Fully insured and holding a current WWCC and National Police Check, Kathleen brings a wealth of experience from her work with DFFH Child Protective Services, court-appointed clients, and individuals experiencing family violence. She also collaborates with Self-Managed NDIS recipients and NDIS Support Coordinators to provide mental health support.

Recognizing the growing importance of workplace wellbeing, Kathleen operates an Employee Assistance Program (EAP). She writes and delivers workshops and webinars on various topics, including Mental Fitness, The Power of Human Connection, and Understanding the Fundamentals of Mental Health. These sessions, designed for both small and large groups, have been praised for their engaging content and positive impact on workplace culture.

Appointments are available face-to-face at her consulting room in Skype (outer SE suburbs of Melbourne) or via Zoom video (Telehealth), with options on weekdays, weeknights, and weekends.Kathleen offers accessible and affordable mental health and counselling services to people in her local area and across remote locations in Australia.
